As I have many times in their new existence, I devoured a homemade cheeseburger with everything today at Pluto’s Beef & Hot Dogs in Oak Lawn, IL. The food is always fresh to order and tastes great. Not only is the food wonderful, but so is the service. Most of the time you will see Karen or someone else greeting you with a big smile. After a few times, they may even memorize your regular order.
Pluto’s is extremely unique. An extreme amount of thought went into every last detail. The restaurant is theme oriented. The bathroom signs are labeled Mars (men) and Venus (women). That’s just the beginning. It’s too cool to explain. You have to check it out for yourself. You can view Pluto’s profile on our website at UrbanMelt.com/plutos

I got my haircut at a locally owned, independent business called Angela Marie Hair Design in Palos Heights, IL. I have been getting my haircut there for at least 6 years. Breanne is the artist who has been cutting my hair during this time. She’s great, but so is the entire place. They are very professional, very talented people.
My hair is cut consistently well every time I go. I recommend Angela Marie Hair Design in Palos Heights, IL, for anyone unhappy with their current situation and looking for a positive change. You can check their profile out at our site at UrbanMelt.com/angelamariehairdesign

I bought a couple of business card cases from Mike Callahan, the Production Manager at G & L. Very nice to deal with.
The shop is very unique. There are many Chicago Fire Department and Police collectibles. There are sports gifts for White Sox and Bears fans.
You can also find trophies and other engraveables.

The Frosted Mug in Alsip, IL is located at 11541 South Pulaski Road. They have been featured in Time/Life Magazine and on Food Network. This is just another example of a local business that knows what it takes to get it done.
I went to the Frosted Mug today for lunch and very delighted. I wanted something quick so I ordered the Maxwell Polish. It was cooked well and topped with sauteed onions and mustard. It is not the classic Maxwell Street Polish. I am guessing that the Polish sausage part was a Best Kosher. Nonetheless, it still hit the spot.
I plan on going back soon for the famous root beer float and beef sandwhich.

G-In Sushi and Grill in Tinley Park, IL is located on the North side of 183rd Street between Harlem Avenue and Oak Park Avenue. They serve sushi and stir fry. You can view their exact address and contact information at http://www.g-in-sushi.com/home.html
Today I ordered tempura maki, spicy ebi maki and california maki. All were just as consistent and fresh as every other time I have ordered. I am always welcomed with a smile and first name acknowledgement. It feels good to feel welcome somewhere. I have been to other restaurants in the past where there is high turnover get treated poorly. At least with a family run business, most of the employees understand that there is no substitute for great customer satisfaction when it comes to customers returning to their establishment.
Thumbs up to G-In Sushi and Grill…again.

Jan and Heather run the show. Quality custom framing and art displayed by local artists. Very cool. One tidbit: Jan showed me some prints done by a 75 year old woman with a graphic design program. Very impressive. But, you have to go there to see what I’m talking about. The Arthouse is located at 12723 South Ridgeland Ave. in Palos Heights, IL 60463.

Had a business lunch today at Y.B. Hungry at 6840 West 95th Street in Oak Lawn, IL 60453. I had the chicken breast on a croissant with american cheese. It was excellent. It was cooked to perfection and very fresh. The restaurant is very hospitable and CLEAN. The one thing that stands out above the quality of food is the quality of service. One may go to a restaurant and expect to get one or the other, service or good food. Y.B. Hungry has both. Y.B. Hungry is a member of UrbanMelt.com and is UrbanMelt.com recommended.
